
Myra Grace Norris Pridmore
Myra Grace Norris Pridmore age 80 of Winfield passed away Saturday, January 09, 2021 at the Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation in Double Springs. Grace was born on November 29, 1940 in Fayette County, AL a daughter of Larkin Albert Norris and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Wilson Norris. She grew up and attended school at Brilliant. She lived in Illinois for 14 years before returning to the Winfield area. She worked for Marion County Regional Home Health for several years. She was a Member of the Assembly of Yahvah. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, collecting knick-knacks and Pillsbury Dough Boys. She had a servant’s heart and loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Pridmore, her son, David Pridmore and all her brothers and sisters.
Grace is survived by her son, Mike Pridmore and his wife, Debbie of Winfield, daughter, Sheila G. Rawls of Winfield, grandchildren, Sommer Thomas and her husband, Chad of Haleyville, Derek Pridmore of Winfield, Kyle Pridmore and his wife, Heather of Northside and Lakin Hardy and her husband, Trevor of Muscle Shoals, 13 great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 6 p.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win. Wallace Dale Farris
Wallace Dale Farris age 76 of Eldridge passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at his residence. Dale was born on May 18, 1944 in Jasper, AL a son of Wallace Farris and Christine Long Farris. He lived in Eldridge most of his life and was a 1962 graduate of Carbon Hill High School. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He worked as a coal miner retiring from Drummond Coal and also as a truck driver for Blue Star Cement Company. He loved to work in his garden and grow peppers and make pepper sauce. He set a record for the Tallest Jalapeno Pepper Plants this summer reaching a height of nine feet. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dale is survived by his daughters, Teri MaLea Smith of Jasper, Tami Michelle Farris of Eldridge, brothers, Mack Shelton Farris and his wife Karen and Kenneth Wayne Farris both of Ft. Smith, AR, sister, Cynthia Renee Hall and her husband Larry, of Carbon Hill, aunts, Patsy Tucker, Jewell McCreless, Doris Wiley, Patsy Tucker and Glenda Long and cousin, Yuvonne McMicken of Birmingham and special friends, Eloise Thornton Farris, Shirley Dodd Farris, Wanda Gray, Pat Kimbrough, Jewell Phillips, Shirley Griffith, Annelle Dodd, Eugene Farris, Gilbert Behel, Linda Housch and Lula Mae Myers. His loving pets, Kit, Brownie and Blackie and other friends and family.

Hannah Smith Rozell
Hannah Smith Rozell age 96 was born July 26, 1924 to Abraham Lincoln and Annie Swanigan Smith in Hamilton, AL. She entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Northwest Medical Center, Winfield, Alabama.
Aunt Hannah attended the Marion County school system. After moving from Hamilton to Winfield, she united with the Hodges Chapel Baptist Church. There she accepted Jesus Christ and remained a member until her death.
She met and married Robert Rozelle who was a military man. They had no children.
She gained employment at Carraway Hospital in Winfield and remained there until she retired. Hannah was a loving woman. She was loved by the staff at Carraway Hospital and she loved them. She was known by just about everyone in Winfield.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Abraham, Elice (Arstella, deceased) and Hubert Smith; a special nephew who loved her dearly, Rev. Morgan A. Smith (deceased). She leaves to cherish her memory a special niece, Rev. Betty Collins Smith, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Johnny Lee Benton age 70 of Fayette County passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2020 at his residence. Johnny was born on August 11, 1950 in Fayette a son of John Benton and Rhetta Lee Jenkins Benton. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County, a resident of the Luxapallila community for most of it. He attended Mount Vernon and Hubbertville schools and El Bethel church. He worked at the Fayette Cotton Mill and at Arvin. He enjoyed farming, hunting and watching old westerns. He was a good family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

James Ray Pridmore
James Ray Pridmore age 82 of Winfield passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. James was born on September 18, 1938 in Brilliant, AL the son of Jesse L. Pridmore and Willene Wates Pridmore. He spent his early years in Brilliant and graduated from Brilliant High School. He lived several years in Moline, IL where he worked at John Deere. He returned to Alabama in 1971 and started working as an insurance agent. He was a graduate of Life Underwriter Training Counsel. He worked for himself as well as other companies including Liberty National and Mutual Savings Life Insurance Companies. He was also a minister and served as a pastor for several churches over the years. He was a member of Seventh Day Fellowship Association, Life Underwriter Association and Chairman of S.D.F.A. Mount Zion. He enjoyed working with church youth groups, old cars, coin and stamp collecting. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David Wayne Pridmore.

Robbie was born on May 28, 1927 in Fayette County, AL a daughter of Lewis Franklin Box and Bertha Ann Mills Box. She was a lifelong resident of the Hubbertville Community of Fayette County. She retired from Reltoc Manufacturing in Winfield and was a member of Berea Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and was always a hard worker. She spent lots of time canning, freezing food and working on the family farm. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, J.C. Jones and Lawrence Benton, son, James Benton, twin brother, Robert Ray Box and her sister, Delores Jean Livingston and her son-in-law, Nick Woods.
Robbie is survived by her son, Jimmy Allen Jones and his wife, Shirley of Hubbertville, George Benton and his wife, Joyce of Kevil, KY, daughters, Linda Woods of Hubbertville, Janice Gardner and her husband, Ray of Fayette, Angela Galloway and her husband, Greg of Fayette, Becky Rogers of Cottondale, Frances Wyma and her husband, Jimmy of Eldridge, 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

Jullie Ann White Gibson age 47 of Hamilton passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Jullie was born on December 18, 1972 in Winfield a daughter of Robert White and Sheila Shirley Putt. She grew up on Guin and graduated from Marion County High School. She enjoyed being at home and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Foster and Janice Shirley, aunt, Sherry Barnes and her brother, Joshua Wayne Barnes.

Mrs. Robbie Nell Barnett age 65 of Cullman formerly of Winfield passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born on January 10, 1955 in Wyandotte, MI, a daughter of William Barnett and Betty Westbrook Barnett. As a child moved between Michigan and the Winfield area with her family. She has lived in Alabama for the last 30 years. She attended River Rogue High School in Michigan and later graduated from Beville State Community College in Fayette, AL earning a degree in nursing. She worked as a nursing home administrator for Decatur Health and Rehab. She was a hard worker and earned the love and respect of those who worked with her. She enjoyed watching Alabama Football and spending time with friends and family. Her sons and her grandchildren were her pride and joy and they loved her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Barnett.

Mr. Jack Hamilton “Tuffy” Willis, Jr. age 62 of Eldridge passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his residence. Jack was born on September 12, 1957 in Bessemer, AL a son of Jack Hamilton Willis, Sr. and Mavis Bratvold Willis. He grew up and lived in the Eldridge area most of his life and was a 1975 graduate of Carbon Hill High School. He worked as was a truck driver and drove for several different companies over the years. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ. He had a wonderful smile, was full of kindness and touched the lives of many. He was always willing to give to those in need, even when he didn’t have it to give himself. He loved his family most of all. His wife, girls and grandbabies where his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hamilton Willis, Sr., special father-in-law, Donnie Dodd and a special niece, Abigail Dodd.

Mr Giles Norman Robbins age 71 of Brilliant passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Giles was born on January 12, 1949 in Winfield a son of James Walter Robbins and Juanita Coleman Robbins. He was a former resident of Texas. He was a Christian man. He graduated high school and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War serving two terms from 1968 – 1970. He previously worked as a photographer for the City of Shreveport and retired from Otis Engineering. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robbie Robbins.
Gile is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Robbins Johnston and a sister, Joyce Barrone and her husband, Randy all of GA, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other friends and family.

Mr Giles Norman Robbins age 71 of Brilliant passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Giles was born on January 12, 1949 in Winfield a son of James Walter Robbins and Juanita Coleman Robbins. He was a former resident of Texas. He was a Christian man. He graduated high school and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War serving two terms from 1968 – 1970. He previously worked as a photographer for the City of Shreveport and retired from Otis Engineering. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robbie Robbins.
Gile is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Robbins Johnston and a sister, Joyce Barrone and her husband, Randy all of GA, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other friends and family.

Mr. Lumon Earl Hensley age 88 of Center Point formerly of Winfield passed away Thursday, September 03, 2020 at St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham. Lumon was born on December 6, 1931 in Marion County, AL a son of James Robert Hensley and Fannie Bell Smith Hensley Baccus. He grew up and attended school in Winfield. He has been a resident of the Birmingham area for over 60 years. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in Korea. He owned and operated several businesses over the years. He was the original owner of the Mug and Cone in Jasper and had serval other restaurants in various locations over the years. He owned and operated Hensley Steel Fab and Hensley Trailer and Body Repair where he did fabrication and truck trailer repair. He was a master mason with over fifty years, a member of the Metro East Lodge #928 and a Shriner and member of the Zamora Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley M. Hunt Hensley, sister, Lounell Franks and a brother, Joe D. Hensley.
Lumon is survived by his nephew, Wayne Franks and his wife, Rhonda of Bremen, great-nieces, Tracey Tucker of Bremen, Cynthia Graves and her husband, Kyle of Cullman, great-nephews, Jeff Franks and his wife Audrey of West Point and Jeremy Franks and his wife, Whitney of Bremen and other friends and family.

Eloise Elliott Williams age 95 of Winfield passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Fairhaven Methodist Center in Irondale. Eloise was born on March 23, 1925 in Marion County, Alabama a daughter of Grover Washington Elliott and Bessie Mae Webb Elliott. She grew up in Winfield and lived in Atlanta and Hephzibah, GA for many years before moving to Forestdale in 1986 where she lived until returning to Winfield in 1997. She previously worked as a stamper at a shirt factory. She was a previous member of the First Baptist Church of Hephzibah and Winfield. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt. Melba Dean Lawrence Eads age 70 of Navarre, FL formerly of Carbon Hill, AL, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her residence. Melba was born on June 24, 1950 in Carbon Hill, AL. She grew up and attended school in Carbon Hill. She completed her L.P.N. training at Northwest Alabama Community College in Hamilton, AL. She worked with Dr. Sanford and the Fayette County Nursing home and several other area medical facilities. She was a member of Union Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

Martha was born on April 12, 1942, the daughter of Eufaula B. and Lucy Belle Byars Dodson. She was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church. She was a 1960 graduate of Winfield City High School. She was previously employed with the Winfield Water Works Board and the City of Winfield for a combination of 43 years. She was a member and past president of the Winfield B.P.W. Club. She was a member of the “Birthday club” with so many of her closest and dearest friends. She was also a member of the Canasta Club. She served on various committees and boards throughout the years and was very community minded. She loved and was so proud to live in Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charlie Joe and Byron Dodson, sister, Mary Ruth Adkins and an infant brother, Henry Hue Dodson.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Libby Estes and her husband, Tim, her grandson, Hunter Estes, great-granddaughter, Lorelai Elizabeth Estes all of Winfield, sisters, Louise Burleson of Winfield, Donna Harkins and her husband, Myrk of Jasper and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Wymon Dale Williams, Jr. age 54 of Sulligent formerly of Winfield passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at his residence. Dale was born on July 14, 1966 in Winfield a son of Wymon Dale Williams, Sr. and JoAnne Shirley Williams. He lived most of his life in the Winfield area and was a 1984 Graduate of Winfield City High School. He worked as carpenter most of his life but his true love was playing country and southern rock music. He was a talented drummer who played in several bands over the years including, the Cooter Brown Band. He was truly a people person who never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Fletcher and Madie Williams.

Mary Eva Crow Gilbert age 82 of Brilliant passed away peacefully at Ridgeview Nursing Home in Jasper on Saturday, July 18, 2020. She was born on August 29, 1937 in Hodges, AL a daughter of Anderson Crow and Odell Dulaney Crow. She grew up in the area around Hodges and Hackleburg and attended school at Hamilton. She was a member of the Winfield Free Will Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She worked as a seamstress in the sewing plant at Brilliant for many years and enjoyed selling Avon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hilton Gilbert and a brother, Vecil Crow.

JULIA ANN COLLINS LEE, age 86, originally of Guin, AL, found her rest on June 26, 2020. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family and love.
“Ann” was the second child born April 18, 1934, to Cecil Grady Collins and Chloe Wright Collins of Guin, AL. She is proceeded in death by husband of 56 years, Edward Ray Lee of Fayette County, AL, infant son Jeremiah Lee, her parents and her sister, Neva Geraldine “Gerry” Collins Hyatt of Owens Crossroads, AL.
She is survived by son, Samuel Ralph Wallace and daughter-in-law, Darvon Wallace of Heflin, AL; daughter, Mary Chloe Baldwin and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Baldwin of Norcross, GA, and former son-in-law Terry Hall of Cullman, AL; five grandchildren, Jeremiah Hall, Rin Anochecer, Samantha Wallace, Darcie Dake, Darman Wallace and granddaughter-in-law, Jada Wallace; plus two great-grandchildren, Kali Dake and Emmalyn Dake.
Ann was a strong woman who valued her walk with the Lord, education, science, travel, camping, and the University of Alabama. A pioneer for women in several fields, she held four degrees – a Bachelor of Chemistry from Florence State College; was the first woman to achieve a Masters of Science in Chemistry from Arizona State University; Registered Nursing degree from the University of North Alabama; and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama. During her first career she used her love of science and worked for NASA’s space program in Huntsville, AL. Later she became a nurse, working in both direct patient care and as an inspector for the State of Alabama. Her true passion, however, was for teaching. She was also a math and science educator, teaching classes from Junior High School to Junior College.
Ann also saw all 50 states, most via camping in her trailer with her family. She was an avid camper, patron and enthusiast of two Christian camps, Camp Winnataska in Pell City, AL, and Camp Lou in Ranburne, AL.
Feisty and fierce until the end, Ann will forever be remembered as a woman of knowledge who spoke her mind freely. She passed on her knowledge and passion for learning whenever possible, to all she touched. Her vast experience and the knowledge she shared will never be forgotten.

JULIA ANN COLLINS LEE, age 86, originally of Guin, AL, found her rest on June 26, 2020. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family and love.
“Ann” was the second child born April 18, 1934, to Cecil Grady Collins and Chloe Wright Collins of Guin, AL. She is proceeded in death by husband of 56 years, Edward Ray Lee of Fayette County, AL, infant son Jeremiah Lee, her parents and her sister, Neva Geraldine “Gerry” Collins Hyatt of Owens Crossroads, AL.
She is survived by son, Samuel Ralph Wallace and daughter-in-law, Darvon Wallace of Heflin, AL; daughter, Mary Chloe Baldwin and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Baldwin of Norcross, GA, and former son-in-law Terry Hall of Cullman, AL; five grandchildren, Jeremiah Hall, Rin Anochecer, Samantha Wallace, Darcie Dake, Darman Wallace and granddaughter-in-law, Jada Wallace; plus two great-grandchildren, Kali Dake and Emmalyn Dake.
Ann was a strong woman who valued her walk with the Lord, education, science, travel, camping, and the University of Alabama. Lettie Vaughn Parr
Lettie Marjorie Vaughn Parr age 84 of Tuscumbia passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 surrounded by family and loved ones. Lettie was born to Jesse Vaughn and Tildia Vaughn on December 6, 1935 in Fayette County, AL. She grew up in Fayette County and attended the Bobo School. After marrying JT, they moved around a bit before settling in Tuscaloosa in the mid-70s until 1999 when they moved to the Shoals Area. She was a life-long member of White Springs Church. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed making quilts for any and every one. She quilted wedding gifts, birthday presents, Christmas gifts among many. She loved sharing her talents with her friends and family. She was a great cook of Southern food, and is known for her Macaroni and Cheese, chicken and dumplin’s, fried chicken, and her pound cake. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were special moments for her entire family and her cooking and presence were the center. She will be greatly missed. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and was an avid fan of the Gaither Gospel Band. Her love of this band runs long and deep. She’s attended so many of their shows and even got to meet and talk with them back in March of this year. They were captivated by her humble appreciation of their music and sharp, dry sense of humor. While all of these were her passions, her biggest pride and joy was her family. She loved us all so much. She always bragged on her children and grandchildren to anyone who’s ear she could grab. She was an unparalleled caregiver to her daughter, Marcia, who was born with cerebral palsy. Lettie cared for Marcia for nearly 40 years and never complained nor thought there was anyone else that knew how to care for her baby like she could. As was often the case, she was right.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James “J.T.” Parr; her son, James Mark Parr; her brothers, Malcolm, Moman, Kermit, Loyd and Earnest Vaughn; and her sisters, Lois Mayfield and Mavis Vaughn.
Lettie is survived by her daughters, Myra Clement and her husband, Lee, Marcia Parr all of Tuscumbia and Alicia Parr of Olive Branch, MS, grandchildren, Nicholas Parr and his wife Kayla, Johnathan Parr, Anna Parr, Abby Parr, Savannah Davis and her husband, Chris and Caleb Clement and other friends and relatives.

Patricia Lee Davis Nelson
Patricia Lee Davis Nelson better known as Pat age 73 of Brilliant passed away Saturday, April 16, 2020 at her residence. Pat was born on February 5, 1947 a daughter of O.D. Davis and Ema Jane Longwell Davis. She grew up in Jackson, Michigan where she attended school. She has lived in the Marion County for close to fifty years. She previously worked at Hardees in Winfield until her retirement. She enjoyed doing crafts such as beading, ceramics and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James B. Nelson, sons, William Lee Nelson and Stephen P. Nelson, brother, Donald Davis and sisters Loraine Kay Smedley and Evonne Joyce Davis.
Pat is survived by her sons, James Patrick Nelson and David Preston Fry and his fiancé Adrianne Caggiana all of Brilliant, brothers Keith Gayle Davis of TX and Bruce Davis and sister, Sharon Sue Correll of Jackson, MI.

Thomas James “Tommy” Fayard
Mr. Thomas James “Tommy” Fayard age 66 of Winfield passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville. Tommy was born on December 20, 1953 in New Orleans, LA a son of Jerry John Fayard, Sr. and Faye Sheril Spears Fayard. Tommy grew up and lived in New Orleans most of his life until Hurricane Katrina forced his move to Texas where he lived before moving to Winfield. He worked many years at a nail factory and later at a dry cleaner. He enjoyed watching t.v. and attending church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Matthew Job Fayard.
Tommy is survived by his son, Jonathon Fayard, his brothers, James Fayard, Glenn Fayard and his wife, Donna and Jerry John Fayard, Jr., his sisters, Sheril Westbrook and Beverly Hanson and her husband, Arthur and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Corbin Earl Mozingo infant son of Cortney Leigh Gann and Devan Ke-Shan Mozingo passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was born on April 23, 2020 in Birmingham. Estel Ray Provorse
Mr. Estel Ray Provorse age 92 of Guin passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at his residence. Estel was born on May 21, 1927 in Jamesport, MO a son of Carl Provorse and Mildred Cathleen Hart Provorse. He grew up in Hunnewell, MO and was Valedictorian of the 1945 class of Hunnewell High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He lived in Illinois for several years and operated his own businesses, Provorse Constructon and Leejon Construction. He has been a resident of Guin for over 30 years and he is a member of Free Water Free Will Baptist Church. He has been a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal fan and later an Alabama Football fan. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and was beloved by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Harriett Martin Provorse, infant daughter, Gail Lynn Provorse, sister, Mary Howard and brothers, Neil and Cecil Provorse.
Estel is survived by his sons, Jim Provorse and his wife, Pamela of Pea Ridge and Daniel Provorse of Guin, daughter, Sharon Hines and her husband Wayne of Guin, sisters Maxine Plunkett, Venna Morrison and her husband, Richard and Donna Gardner, grandchildren, Lee Hines and his wife, Emily and Jonathan (Charlene Jeffries) Hines, eight grandchildren and other relatives.
